Q. CAN MY TAXES BE RAISED BECAUSE I FILED A GRIEVANCE?
A. NO. Under no circumstances can your taxes be raised due to filing a tax grievance. Your assessment can only go down or remain the same. Taxes will continue to be increased by the local municipalities.

Q. WILL ANYONE FROM THE ASSESSOR’S OFFICE COME TO MY HOUSE?
A. No one from the assessor’s office will come to your home.

Q. I THINK MY TAXES ARE LOW, AND I DON’T WANT TO RAISE A RED FLAG.
A. Even if you are under assessed – they cannot raise your assessment unless they reassess the entire area. There is ABSOLUTELY no down side to filing a grievance.

Q. DOES FILING A GRIEVANCE AFFECT MY STAR PROGRAM?
A. NO

Q. CAN I FILE A GRIEVANCE MYSELF?
A. Yes. However, we find that most homeowners who file for themselves don’t get the reduction they deserve. Some people simply don’t have the time or may become intimidated by all the paperwork involved in grieving property taxes.

Q. IF I GET A REDUCTION WILL IT AFFECT ALL OF MY PROPERTY TAXES?
A. A reduction will affect your town, county and school taxes.

Q. AM I ENTITLED TO A REDUCTION IF I HAVE TAX EXEMPTIONS?
A. YES! A grievance reduction will be above and beyond any exemptions you already have.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY GRIEVANCE IS DENIED?
A. If your grievance is denied, we will file an appeal on your behalf
